Caramel Apple Dessert Cups
Ingredients:
4 medium apples, peeled and diced
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon water
1 cup caramel sauce
1 cup whipped cream
6 graham crackers, crushed
1/4 cup melted butter
Directions:
Prepare the Apple Filling: In a large saucepan, combine the diced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat until the apples are tender, about 10 minutes.
Thicken the Filling: In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to form a slurry. Add the slurry to the apple mixture and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the filling thickens. Remove from heat and let cool.
Make the Crust: In a medium bowl, mix the crushed graham crackers with the melted butter until well combined. Press the mixture into the bottom of serving cups to form a crust.
Assemble the Dessert Cups: Spoon the cooled apple filling over the graham cracker crust in each cup. Drizzle caramel sauce over the apple filling, then top with whipped cream.
Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the dessert cups for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld. Serve chilled and enjoy!
