Baked ham, cooked low and slow with brown sugar

Baked ham, cooked low and slow with brown sugar, mustard, and cola has been in my recipe file for years. It’s a beautifully flavorful Ham is a requirement on a southern Easter table since it’s easy to make, feeds a crowd, and people just love it.
Ingredients:
1 ham on the bone (2.5 kg)
1l Water
1l Beer
25cl Molasses
2 onions
1 bay leaf
5 Cloves
25g brown sugar
25g Breadcrumbs
10 pineapple slices
25cl Pineapple juice
20g Unsalted butter
Salt
Ground pepper

Preparation Steps:
In a large casserole dish, place the ham studded with cloves. Cover it with water and beer. Add the molasses, chopped onions and bay leaf. Add salt and pepper.
Bring to the boil, then gently reduce the sauce over low heat, letting the ham simmer for 2 hours.
In a bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and brown sugar. Pour a little water and mix the resulting paste well.
Preheat the oven to 200°C. Put the ham in a dish and cover it with the brown sugar batter. Bake for 30 minutes, until the ham is golden brown.
In skillet, melting butter. Brown the pineapple slices in it, pour in the pineapple juice and the ham cooking sauce, reduce until you obtain a coating sauce. Add salt and pepper. Place the pineapple slices and their juice on the ham, serve in slices. Enjoy !
